Andezit, volkanik bir kayaç türüdür. Genellikle volkanların püskürme ürünü olarak oluşur. Andezit, kristal yapısı bakımından orta derecede silis içeriğine sahiptir ve bazalt ile riyolit arasında yer alır. Ayrıca mineral zenginliği açısından da çeşitli mineraller içerebilir. Toprak oluşumunda ve volkanik aktivitelerde önemli bir rol oynayan andezit, jeolojik süreçlerde yaygın olarak bulunur.
